I see your point.

Harry and friends, just for the record, every State recount of the Florida vote showed Bush won. The Supreme Court agreed. The real story is that the Gore machine saw an opportunity to steal it, but failed, which resulted in a massive mis-information political campaign, which the media was only too happy to help with, and which left-wingers lapped up like hyenas drinking blood.

Gore's attempt to steal the election, as you know, resulted in a tremendous drain of professional resources and valuable time which should have been directed toward establishing the new administration and smoothly transitioning from one to the next. But the Democrats, then as now, were more interested in politics than in the welfare of the country. Because of the petty, chilish behavior of the entire Democrat political machine, on Inauguration Day in 2001, we barely had a functioning government.

As far as the lack of health insurance coverage for many people is concerned, it is not the role of government, or business for that matter, to provide health insurance. Businesses often elect to provide it, as part of a benefits package to offer to employees. The problem with un-insured people is two-fold: one, many people willingly decide not to pay for it; and two, government at all levels and over many years has ignored the problem of cost, which makes health insurance too expensive for many people. Costs have risen for a number of reasons, from paperwork requirements, to malpractice costs, to free health care for illegal aliens, and on and on. Until state and Federal legislatures actually grow a spine and bring some sanity back to such issues, the cost will continue to climb. It is the height of comedy for people to believe that the government can fix the mess they've created by simply taking more money from more people and giving it to other people in the form of free or government subsidized health insurance. How does that make it better or more affordable? It doesn't. But some people will believe anything if you keep saying it over and over. Point to even ONE government program such as Social Security or Medicare or whatever, and tell me it isn't a giant overpriced mess.
