Hi,

You asked whether you should get married before or after grad school.

I split the difference -- my wife and I were married during the summer between my first and second years of grad school.

It worked well -- when I started school, we moved to a new city, I plunged into grad school while she started a job search and then landed a job. We got married the week after classes were over after the first year of grad school, took a very short honeymoon and then I did my summer internship. I then returned to class in the fall, finished up grad school, and got a job after graduation.

This worked for us. A wedding *before* I started school didn't seem right as I were pretty stressed about quitting my job to go back to school, she didn't have a job yet, etc. etc. By the time we got married we were much more confident everything was going to work out.

Of course, we were older (I was 31), but sounds like you have your mind made up on that (though I can tell you *for sure* I am happy I didn't marry the woman I was dating when I was 20).

We celebrate our 20th anniversary next year, by the way.

Steve
