I have and play a superbone. For me it helps my trumpet chops by centering my ambochure (or apature?) , at first it was difficult to switch between the two but but now I can switch without problems. My suggestion is if you are starting out, don't practice too much on days you have a trumpet gig until you are sure it won't hurt the chops, At first when you switch back to trpt it will feel like you are trying to play through a straw
-- I Have done a couple of gigs with Mic Gillete where he will buss on the trombone right bofore he plays the trumpet and comes in screaming as thought that rejuvinated him !!
I am rambling too much --- enjoy the horn
