My sight reading skills have gone way up recently.

I started by playing some very basic warm ups with my Met.
Started real slow at 68 then as time went along got it up to 120.

Once I had the whole issue of time locked down with the basics...I started picking selections to site read out of the Arbans book and applied the same principles.Started out with the MEt at 68 and eventually to 120.I try to pick 1-2 selections a day to read.Generally I will pick one KEY on the same day.For instance Monday I might read 2 pieces in the key of c.On Tuesday I might read 2 in G.Try to break it up as much as I can.I don't push myself.I am up to reading 3 flats or 3 sharps per sit down.Once I feel comfortable with that then I will move up to 4 flats and 4 sharps.

Its been surprising to me what a difference it makes going back to the basics.I think sometimes we try to move forward but what we really need to so is apply the breaks,,,move back and re cover the basics.
