Remember, he WAS Louis Armstrong on Broadway. Byron wants to be the whole package (to the masses) like Satchmo was. I understand the motivation. I, too, just wanna hear great BIG TRUMPET, baby. The singing/entertaining shtick probably increases his draw potential...and marketability...so I don't blame him a bit. I hope he is making a good living. He deserves it. BTW: he was friendly and gracious when I met him back stage....seems like a nice guy, too.
