1. When you go to a club, and your friends' band is playing, do you try to talk your way in or do you pay?

We don't go to clubs anymore (we're old!) But if we're going to see a friend of our perform at the Hollywood Bowl,
i.e. at the Playboy Jazz Festival, we usually get comps and backstage passes.

2. When's the last time you paid for a show?

I can't remember the last time we went to a show.
Sometimes we go and see Jack Sheldon at a local restaurant and believe it or not, there's no cover. We always make a point
of thanking the owner and thanking Jack. We support them by buying dinner and drinks.

3. How often would you say you pay for live music?

Not very often, but that's mainly because we don't go out all that often. Things changed about 4.5 years ago when we acquired
a big mortgage. Now our entertainment is either watching our large screen tv or checking things out on the forum. Yeah I know,
simple life, huh.

(edit)

I remember we paid for our tickets to see Maynard (and Serafin) in Porterville and we paid for our tickets to see Queen Latifah (and Serafin)
at UCLA so we do pay for stuff, usually preferring not to ask for comps. We like to support our friends. Our friend who plays at the Hollywood
Bowl is an exception to the rule I guess.
