I caught Chicago at the Windsor Casino a few weeks ago. The only original horn player was the sax man which didn't necessarily ruin it for me but the horns were incredibly low in the mix - I mean barely audible! It wasn't that they weren't loud enough it was because everything else was too loud. The vocals were screaming loud and the guitars and bass were burying the horns too. How can this happen with Chicago? Maybe they had to use the house setup and personnel? Anyway, I enjoyed the tune selection and the young guitar player they had was terrific.
High Class Brass - What a great album from Vizzutti and Tyzik! If I could record anything as beautiful as that version of Aries Eyes I would't care if I ever recorded anything else.
