The cadenza around 7:00 isnt too shabby.The more I think about this if there are slight imperfections in his sound at times so what? Are we doing wine tasting here?
I think you have to look at the whole picture.H.J. and even M.F. had certain strengths and weaknesses but I think the whole picture is what is important.I suppose if you could plug a horn into some sort of mechanized computer system that could control every aspect of input to the horn you'd have perfection.I don't mean this in anyway to come across in a negative mannner please but IMHO when I think of the guys that are gone now, I'm grateful we still have Doc here and for me at least, I get this "bitter aftertaste" with these comparisons (no offense Bulowl) of Doc to M.F., or H.J. etc. Just my opinion, to each their own, I guess.
