Sorry to hear you now have TII Diabetes to contend with -- but big kudos that you've tackled the issue and are working on it. SCREW 136 to 179 pounds man! Set a realistic goal of 180 to 200 pounds, a weight that will let you walk easier, and something you can actually maintain. I'm in that boat with you -- -- I screwed up my knees playing football, and when I weighed 250+ I could not run at all,

Thanks for the words of encouragement. I haven't weighed myself yet as I haven't been back to the doctor and our scale doesn't work well. There are scales where I receive back treatment but they differ between each one and compared to the doctor's scale. I can't tell if I've lost weight by how my clothes fit; with as much weight as I have, losing 10 or 20lbs won't show. I've adjusted to the meds with only a couple episodes where I think my blood sugar dropped. The appetite suppressent in the Byetta definitely helps, along with my determination to do what I need to do. I meet next Friday with a nutritionist to work out a food plan. So far, I've just been reading labels to avoid high sugar levels and drinking diet drinks (I highly recommend Diet Dr. Pepper and Diet Cherry Diet Pepper). I gave away my candy at work which I snacked on throughout the day and there are no candies at home. Only a couple of times have I craved food in the evening while watching TV. One time I ate a handful of grapes and anther time I went to bed. I'll post again when I've weighed myself and/or met with the nutritionist.

Thanks for caring!!! It truly means a lot.
