Hey Jim, that's great to hear!

A couple thoughts about breakfast and eating...

I'm right there with you about a bowl of cereal. But I know that it won't last long, so I have orange juice and a piece of toast, too. That gets me to about 10:30, and I'm hungry again, at which point I'll usually have a sandwich and whatever. Don't be afraid of being hungry and wanting to eat. Do avoid snacking! When you feel the urge to put something in your mouth, make it substantial, not continuous little bits of bad stuff!

So have stuff around that's easy to make and is yummy... For a sandwich: good bread, mayonaise, mustard, pickles, lettuce, sliced turkey. For lunch or dinner, make a big pot of hearty soup that'll be enough for several meals (carrots, celery, onion, corn, pork or beef cubes, stock, etc.). I could eat that kind of stuff every day! Broccoli. A head of broccoli costs about 5 cents (kidding), is easy to prep, and microwaves in about 3 minutes. Frozen, ready to nuke, veggies... peas, corn, green beans, all varieties of Ore-Ida potatoes image

My point is simply that there's a bunch of ways to have great food. You just have to think it through for what works for you. And, avoid snacking on high calorie junk like candy bars and soda pop.

Now I'm going to get a bit in your face, because you're a good guy. I go to the grocery store almost every day. (It's the European in me.) Every time I'm there, there's some really hugely fat person loading up their cart with ice cream, frozen "dinners", cake, diet pop, etc. Sometimes, I just want to say "don't you see a relationship between your excessive weight and what's in your cart!?". Forget the dam diet pop!! It ain't helping, when you're eating 5000 calories of crap every day!!

So Jim, you're off to a great start. Keep at it! We like you, you're a good guy, and we want you to be around for a long time. You don't have to get to 180. Get to 350, and take it from there. Don't set dates and weights. Just change your eating and snacking habits and let nature take its course.
