PB Blaster is great stuff. Every handy-man (...or woman...) needs to add it to their arsenal. Beats the pants off of WD-40 for breaking loose stuck stuff -- and has the added benefit of having a really hot flash point (to lastchairtpt's point), so it won't burst into flames... ... ... even if you've used a quart of the stuff on a stuck tractor wheel hub then cracked out the ox-acetelyne torch....
Hey lastchairtpt -- -- I've begun using CLR diluted 1:10 to get the stubborn gunk out of old horns (lead pipes calcification, especially... etc...) by soaking 10 minutes then using a typical snake. I got that tip on another trumpet board, from another repair guy -- -- what's your opinion of using CLR?
