I read the obituary in our local paper, and was amazed to find out that she was living practically in my back yard. Toms River NJ is 15-20 miles south of me. There are a lot of retirement communities there and a lot of car accidents too. Can't imagine why! Seriously, had I known that such a great singer was just around the corner I probably would have tried to contact her. It would have been really cool while she still had her health to have her sing a song or two with my band. I wonder how many other great musicians are hiding in our closets here and there. There should be a national registry of professional retired musicians that want to get out and play for fun.
