Jim in Cincy - at this point I don't think I'm gonna get into such detail as the size of the apple, etc. although I am aware that some people use that approach to lose weight. For me, keeping a list of what I eat (then sharing it with others) is my way of keeping a modicum of control over the impulse eating that is so easy for me to do, i.e. eating 2 slices of birthday cake at work or eating a cookie or two while I'm downstairs in the kitchen. Keeping the list keeps me honest. And usually, my diet is healthy enough to lose some weight or maintain a certain level. It's the impulse eating that kills me.

Jim (in Oklahoma) - now I can see why you've got us all beat. You are eating well planned meals that include a lot of bulk that would help you feel full.

Here's what I ate today (I was home sick, so I'm sure some of this was comfort food):

breakfast: 1 bowl of oatmeal, raisins and honey, 1 slice of banana bread + butter
snack: 2 cookies and a third of a banana (comfort food)
lunch: 1 slice of pizza, 2 slices of banana bread + butter (comfort food), apple juice
dinner: chicken breast and wing, pinto beans, rice, half of a chicken "roll" my daughter didn't finish and apple juice

PS: Mongo - welcome to the thread.
