Wow, I weighed 135 in high school!

The "walking office" continues to be a big success. I walk a little over 3 1/2 hours a day on average, six days a week, good for 5 or 6 miles at the lower speeds. I still sit when I need to use my mouse tablet for design and other intricate tasks, but I'm finding it very easy to burn 600+ calories per day while basically answering email. 2 MPH is still fine for typing, and I'll set it for 3 or 3.5 MPH if I'm going to stream a movie.

As far as weight loss, not much yet...possibly 2 pounds after a month and over 18,000 calories burned.  I lost nearly 50 pounds four years ago strictly through changing my diet, and kept every ounce of it off for about three years.  But while my daily habits remain good, one or two restaurant meals per week has been enough to bring back about 15 of those lost pounds. I am thinking that the walking routine alone should be enough to counter that, but I'll make whatever adjustments necessary to get the job done.

A couple of pics for you. I haven't done any decorating yet, but put my Maynard picture up for the occasion!  This is a temporary setup while I see how I like the heights and placement of the things I use, so right now it's a folding table with PVC stilts and a board across the treadmill's handlebars.  The little "knobs" that hold the board in place are a couple of those "clean release" wall hangers for coats or what have you, with a piece of weatherstripping to keep the keyboard and mouse in place. Most of these home setups are simple and creative like this, but I plan to have a custom desk/enclosure built shortly. Add a couple of nice speakers, and it is a very pleasant workspace indeed!
