My Recent Posts
...I wanted an updated version of Magnitude/Six by Six.
An acoustic, straight ahead, small group album, with lots of flugel. Might have included Alfie; but definitely NO MORE over-produced 'late-Columbia' style anthems.
Something typified by the 'But Beautiful' or 'Ballad to Max' sound, only in a sextet setting. We all know he was the best LOW NOTE trumpet player.
Having said all that, by recording Brass Attitude and The One and Only, he wrapped-up his studio recording legacy pretty well.
