Shoveling snow is another good workout, as is mowing the lawn (especially if you collect the clippings), and raking leaves.  The one problem that people should be very aware of is over-doing it.  People (generally men) die of heart attacks and strokes from shoveling snow, chopping wood, etc.  You really need to be cognizant of your physical condition and pace yourself accordingly.  On a similar thought, physical exertion should be a regular activity, not a flash in the pan once in a while thingy.  Even if you're walking several times a week, but really work the body's muscles only a couple times a month, pretty much all you're doing is wearing yourself out and making everything ache for the next couple of days.
