But when I put on weight, it's only in my gut, face, and neck. My limbs and torso stay slim.

That is my exact problem. I have lost 8 lbs this month, and have a goal of going to 200lbs. Right now I am at 220, and I am 6'3. It just seems that all the excess weight goes to my gut, and makes me have a fat face. My weight ballooned after I quit smoking a few months ago... (bad for us trumpet players, I know. You would be surprised to see how many composer smoke like a chimney. It gave me something to do while I was cooped up in a studio 10+ hours a day having to make sure the music got done in time. I think for me it was the stress.). I have just been cutting back on food consumption, and trying to get some exercise daily. I am having trouble going through 43 pages of thread... any tips guys?
