LUVR -- That's close to my wife's Pesto recipe. I'll post it when she gives me the specifics. We got it from a lady we stayed with in Vernazza, Italy in 2000. It is similar ratios, but leaves out the Pecorino and pan-roasts the garlic before incorporating. She also takes the easy way out with a food processor, not a pestle... now that's old-school. Where's your Mom from? Italy is one of my favorite places... but... alas.... I haven't been back since 2000.

GIO -- Servicing the mountain bikes is on my to-do list for either this weekend or next as well!

EDIT:  My wife has also tried some Pesto variations, including a Spinach-Basil Pesto (substitute Spinach for some of the Basil), and Sun-Dried Tomato Pesto (replace most of the Basil with Sun Dried Tomatoes).  I love the Spinach variation, but am not so keen on the Tomato one -- it loses some of the subtlety of the original dish.

Equipment:  Greg Black made John Blount Personal model mouthpiece, Callet Jazz 63xx trumpet --- played at a mediocre comeback level for 30 full minutes per month...
Favorite Maynard Tunes:  Gospel John, all the other ones
