Brassman- My Mother's parents were immigrants from Bologna. I grew up with some great food at family parties.

As for pesto- a pesto variation that I use a lot is a cilantro pesto. Very tasty stuff if you like cilantro. I am also a fan of sun-dried tomato pesto, but only on certain occasions. Not something I would eat every day. I have to tell you, I cheat a lot and use the food pro. Mom would kill me for it, and if I ever make it with her, I use the mortar and pestle so she doesn't give me a speech.
