MADISON, Wis., Sept. 9 (UPI) -- A lawsuit filed in Madison, Wis., says a baker's dozen cookie companies have infringed on patents concerning improved cholesterol ratios, court papers say.

The lawsuit was filed by Brandeis University and GFA Brands, a New Jersey firm that licenses the formulas, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported Friday.

The suit claims major corporations Pillsbury and Nestle are among those illegally using a formula that manipulates the balance between good cholesterol and bad cholesterol, providing "significant health improvements."

Keebler's Chips Deluxe, Nestle Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and Rippin' Good vanilla wafers are among the products that make use of the formulas.

The lawsuit, which seeks an injunction to stop the infringements, also names East Side Ovens, a regional producer and wholesaler from Bay View, Wis., the newspaper said.

*******

I have no idea where Bay View is, but I've got a pretty good understanding of the lunacy which is known as Madison.  Happy
