Doesn't Faddis play on a Schilke?? A friend of mine was playing on a Schilke for a while and told me it was a real tight blow with a lot of push back.
Depends on the Schilke. These days its rare to find a Schilke on the bandstand. The B1 was popular in the 70s, but that large bore fad is gone. The B1s play like ass. The B5s are nice, but too tight. The B5 has been copied and vastly improved by other makers, so why buy one. Schilke's make great pics and Eb trumpets. The Bb line sucks. Much better horns are on the market now. That's just a fact.
