It's interesting that they should choose these particular movies to protest over. I'm frankly surprised the AFM would protest in this way, on this issue, unless there's a lot more to the story than is reported in this piece - like some sort of balked AFM negotiation with the studio, for instance. I figure I would have heard about that when reading my copies of International Musician....

It's not uncommon, as Julian alluded, for US-produced films to have their soundtracks recorded in London. In fact, a cursory internet search reveals that the Soundtracks for Iron Man, Thor and Captain America, the Marvel Universe movies leading to The Avengers, were all recorded in London. Why the outrage, all of a sudden? One thing's for certain, as Julian said; they did not save a considerable amount of money by recording in the UK. If anything, it probably cost more, given the comparative strength of the UK pound to the US dollar!
