I've been gone awhile from this forum, but this topic caught my eye.  I decided to get healthy almost two years ago (6/11/12).  I started off walking and eating better, then started running about a year ago.  I've run three half marathons and have three more scheduled.  I've lost almost half of myself (I was quite a big girl) and am healthier than I've ever been.  As you get older and realize there's less life to live, you learn to take care of yourself.  That's how it was with me anyway.  Good luck.
