It may seem like small potatoes, but Restaurant chains charging extra for some onions are behaving imo like sniveling children. ...What is the big deal in giving customers who eat dinner at their establishment - some extra onion on a hamburger ? ? It's a $ 9 burger - but that doesn't cut it. So they tack on another 1/2 greenback. No big deal, right.....
Why people put up with that nonsense (including myself)I don't know.
It's not the money per se - but the behavior of places that concerns me. I agree, that onion prices may have risen over the years... But seeing how they pay a much reduced rate of 50 LB 'bundle' of onions - gets them into a nice bracket price for this produce.
It used to be that these places 'appreciated' your business... and didn't hesitate if you asked for sauteed onion, lettuce or 'pickles' perhaps.
Guess you gotta change with the times...
