I had the pleasure of seeing the Herd several times in the 1980's, with Brian MacIntyre (sp?) on lead. He was excellent. That was a swinging band.
George Rabbi played solo trumpet. He was featured on Lemon Drop. There was a killer arrangement of Things Ain't What They Used to Be. Fedchock was music
director and lead t'bone. I got to be friends a bit with a trumpet section guy named Scott and Mike Brignola, who was a beast on bari. I never saw them
after that, but I know that Eric M was Woody's "last" lead trumpet. Roger, did you step in right after Brian or were there some other guys? Did
Scooter play lead for Woody?
