NoChops1 -- Dude... time for an update... and I'm catching you!!
As of 06/30... drum roll please...
214 pounds On 04/01/09 I was 241 pounds.
On 06/30/09 I am now 214 pounds.
That is 27 pounds, or 11.2% body weight lost so far. That's 27 pounds in 13 weeks, still clicking along at 2 pounds a week.
On the exercise plan lately... LOTS of manual labor... I've been doing some things for the church, as well as at my new home (sheetrock, plumbing, pulling wire for new kitchen facility at church, plus clearing land, trimming trees at home), so have dropped my walking/running completely but am still doing stretching, very light lifting, and calesthenics twice a week.
On the menu yesterday? Well... 6:30am -- Two servings of plain oatmeal, touch of local honey, cup of 2% milk. Coffee. Ice water. 9:30am -- 2 Bananas, nectarine, serano pepper, Coffee. 11:15am -- 2 Cups rice, cup of red beans, 1/2 cup diced onion, 2 diced FRESH Habaneros, whole diced tomato. Ice Water. 1:00pm -- About 1 cup worth of sliced baked squash with parmesan cheese, 2 cups green beans, 2 cups organic angel hair pasta, cup home-made spaghettis sauce (about 3 ounces ground buffalo, 1 tomato, clove garlic, home grown basil), Ice Tea. 4:00pm -- Apple, 1 ounce pepper jack cheese, jalapeno, Ice Water. 6:00pm -- Serving of my wife's home-made chicken enchilada caserole (roughly equivalent to 1 chicken breast, 3 ounces of cheese, 1 cup sour cream, 4 flour tortillas, tomatos, onions, peppers), 2 cups sugar snap peas, 1 cup steamed brocolli. Ice Water. 9:30pm -- About 3 servings of Doritos... can of Rotel Habanero tomatoes livened up with two diced jalapenos and habanero powder... three very spicy Bloody Marys... My wife jumped on the band wagon and has lost 5 pounds so far. She was already in good shape -- so doesn't have far to go to her goal -- but it's easier on me having her push me now. Had to punch another hole in my belt. My 36 waist jeans are now baggy and loose -- -- looks like I may be buying some 34 pants for the first time since I was 25.

Brassman, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!! I can't recall any other friends or colleagues who lost so much weight as you have without the support of medication or an operation. Keep going, I hope you'll reach your goal. :-) Jim in Cincy, welcome to the club! I hope you'll feel better soon. I'm down to either 211 or 210 from 224 in April. Our scale is not 100% accurate so I'm not sure; I know I'm losing weight, just not exactly how much. I've been swimming a lot this summer and in general have been more active since we're in the process of adopting a 6 y/o.
