Sorry to hear you now have TII Diabetes to contend with -- but big kudos that you've tackled the issue and are working on it. SCREW 136 to 179 pounds man! Set a realistic goal of 180 to 200 pounds, a weight that will let you walk easier, and something you can actually maintain. 8 POUNDS!!! I saw my doctor today. In 26 days I have lost 8 pounds. It may not sound like much but I can't describe how great I feel right now. It is REAL SOLID RESULTS. It adds to the encouragement I've gotten here. And I KNOW I will do even more in the next month and beyond as I get more into figuring out how to eat correctly. Dave, thanks for your words of wisdom. I especially like your take on when to eat. The nutritionist has me eating breakfast around 7:30 and then lunch at noon, with a piece of fruit in between but that snack just isn't cutting it. I like how you eat a sandwhich around 10:30 instead of snacking. Brassman, thanks for the chicken suggestions, and the support here and off the board. And MAJOR CONGRATS on your accomplishments so far. Ron, it sounds like you have a great regiment of diet and exercise. I need to exercise as part of my plan and find a way to do it in spite of my back issues. Thank you very much for starting this thread and keeping us updated on your progress.
