Well, since the abortion thread has run it's course (or so I'm told
)....
Let's get back to our government and the current administration's attempt to pass the biggest tax increase in the history of man.
CAP AND TRADE.
The attempt to call this a green bill is stupid- it doesn't reduce any CO2 (as if that even mattered) but simply forces companies to pass increased fees
on to the people that need the product. We pretty much need energy and will be forced to pay whatever the rate is to prevent our families from cooking or
freezing. It's not like we have an alternative, and experts seem to think that optimistically, we're years (or decades) away from having one. Yet the
tax doesn't give any time for the transition. It simply is.
This is a tax simple and pure and the attempt to call it a "jobs bill" is even more hypocritical. This has been tried in several European countries,
but they lost 2.2 jobs for every "green" job gained. That seems like a good idea in this economy.
Since we're talking about this economy, where is the outcry against the President's out right lie that (and I quote) "A family earning less than
$250,000, won't pay a dime more under an Obama presidency."
Maybe no one's saying anything because they knew it was a lie when he said it, but the middle and esp. the lower class will suffer immeasurably under this
plan, and then they will need to be saved. I'm supposing the term "nanny state" will finally take full effect.
What a sad, sad day in America where we let our government beat the crap out of us and then look to them to give us a hand out.
